Today I pulled the transmission to fix a small leak and do some cleanup.
After the trans was out, i decided to check my circa 2003 spec 3 clutch.
I was surprised at how well this 10 year old clutch has held up to 650-700ish rw worth of abuse.
It has plenty of life left and could easily go back in the car.
Anyway, i'm thinking about replacing it due to the taller gears and bigger turbo.
Anyone have a recommendation? I don't really follow what the newest and best parts are anymore.
I typically prefer the feel of a little heavier pedal vs a light one for what its worth.
Someone motivated him to get some work done.

Thanks guys.
Damon, what flywheel are you running with the RXT?
Can I use a stocker?
I dunno about stocker, but I'm just using the alum Spec.

I've put 10-12 McLeod twins in various things. For a bunch of power like this, there's nothing better. Nick says drive his... come do it. Near stock pedal feel, smooth, etc. The only downside I've ever felt with one of these is that you can't shift quite as fast with one, but the difference is so small most people could probably never feel it. And yeah, you can use your FW. I want to say these used to come with a dedicated flywheel, but now they just send you this ring with straps on it that holds the center floater.

Yeah, I think Nick's is the older one with 3 levers and a dedicated flywheel. The newer ones have more levers and are supposed to be more smooth.

This is Bryan's thread, about Bryan's car, so I should probably just be cool and be well advised to leave Nick's car and Tracy's work on it out of this and just be content to nutswing.

A man would've probably would have taken his latte out from between his legs and actually full throttle shifted that 4th gear lol
I'm about to get flamed like a Mofo for that^^ lol

Lolz, toucé, I have a tendency to do the 1-2-3-2 shift if I flat shift into 4th, so I just lifted to take my time on those 2 passes.

Yeah, I'd wager that none of us are Ronnie Sox. FWIW, I can feel a little difference from my old clutch (Spec 3 single disc) to my new one (basically twin spec 3 discs). Flywheel is the same piece between both. It's small, but it's there. I'm not nearly fast enough for it to matter though.

I don't discriminate, I make fun of everyone lol
And Bryan, I had a Spec stage 3+, a Mcleod RXT twin disc, and a Spec "Super Twin" twin disc. In all honesty I liked the Spec Super Twin the best. I too like a heavier clutch pedal and I feel that the Spec Super Twin that I had in my silver Mustang Coupe was a more robust and bullet proof clutch and I feel that it responded faster.
The only thing that you need to keep in mind is the fact that the McLeod is quite a bit quiter than the noisy Spec floater plates clanging around. But you LS1 boys are accustomed to metallic clanging noises from all of the bent push rods and other shit that gets tore up in "god's motor" lol
I know that the the LS1/T56 uses a hydraulic clutch setup, and my archaic Foxbody has a cable clutch so tits possible the clutch could feel a little different in your car. Most of you don't know me and probably don't give a shit about what I say..... I just wanted to give my Homies Bryan, Tracy and Ryan my experience. Buckle Up!
