Hi,
mxman, a fellow member on here, told me to finally post an intro, so I am!
I'm from the toronto area and I am the recent owner of a swapped 7.
It is a 1992 Series 6 Type R plucked from the Japanese market.
The previous owner (a friend of mine) did all the work over the last 3 years. I am still very new to these cars and have a lot of research still to do. So forgive me in advance if I ask silly/repetitive questions in the future. He may have posted his progress, but he can't remember which forum it was on.
The engine is from a 2006 GTO, and was coupled to a 4L65E until I told him to ditch it for a T56. Thankfully he listened!
Engine is mostly stock. Basic mods include cam (comp xfr 224/230 .591 .600), basic valvetrain upgrade, fast 90mm intake, headers, custom 4" exhaust and a tune. It also has a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and stock LS7 clutch. The AFRs are decent but I know the tune needs some work on both the fuel and ignition maps.
The tune will be the focus of my research over the winter.
Other than that the car has the samberg rear diff cradle, cobra 8.8" IRS diff with 3.73s , driveshaftshop axles and their aluminum driveshaft.
Suspension is HSD dampers with Swift springs (12/10 kg/mm). Tanabe antiroll bars front and rear.
Wheels are Enkei RPF1 Type RC (2-piece) in 8.5 and 9.5 and tires are Hankook RS-3's sized 255/35/18 and 285/35/18.
Okok enough with the description.
Pics!
Thanks and I'm glad to have joined!
