And tuning around a broken system is the dumbest thing you could do. Sounds like something a dsm owner would do.

turn that AN fitting into a Castle nut look alike.  thats what I did and put the sock back on it.  worked great.

I can't get the damn metal ring to stay in the plastic ring of the sock.  So I bought the Pegasus one this morning.

Excuse my ignorance if you have already mentioned something about the fuel routing, but 19 pages is alot to go through. Have you thought about taking the t fitting off the end of the rail. I have fixed many cars by taking the t's out and running on line in - cross over- then a line out.

I did this too.  The plastic bracing inside the sock winds up blocking most of the opening into the pump.  You're cutting off at least 50% of the flow area.

This maybe kicking a dead horse but I thought I'd do some show and tell about the differences between the Jayracing.com and Pegasus Racing Fuel sock.

Jayracing fitting (left) vs Pegasus Racing (right) note the stand-offs (or like a castle nut like Sabre002 was saying)

Pegasus fuel sock is deeper than the Jayracing

Pegasus Racing fuel sock sits significantly lower when assembled.

I split the check valve that came with the Bosch 044 pump and used it as on extension (piece on the right)

TADAH!

The total height works out pretty good!

Sock is now to the bottom of the tank again.

But I am still getting some craziness with my fuel pressure. The gauge is REALLY erratic. It's practically bouncing 20-80 faster than I can see it. Problem went away when I added the -8AN crossover, but now it's back when I started playing with everything. Could my regulator be bad?

I'd try a new gauge before a new regulator.

I shit you guys not when I say at least try taking that T fitting out.   Feed line in - fuel rail - cross over - fuel rail - regulator - return

The first car i built with an lsx had a t fitting in it just like yours and i had the exact same problem. The other problem i have run across is the FAST fuel rails popping injectors out, i usually had to slot the tabs and to apply more pressure on them to hold fuel rail down to keep the o-rings from blowing out.

I think think you maybe onto something too. I stared at this for awhile and I think when I took apart the fuel lines to:
  • Remove fuel filter as a test
  • Replace fuel filter back
  • Replace flare unions with double swivel union
  • Remove fuel pump sock as a test
  • Replace fuel pump sock with Pegasus Racing sock

... Each time introduced opportunity to get air in the fuel lines. I think the way I am plumbed there is now way for it to purge back to the tank.

Feed line in - fuel rail - cross over - fuel rail - regulator - return

That's a very common way to do it.

I did 10an Y to dual 8an's to the rails, back to the regulator (dual input, single output), to a 8an return.  If the regulator has single in/out ports, you'd do it as quoted instead.

I've never heard of air in the fuel system being an issue.

me either, but this issue is driving me nuts and costing me money with no results. My regulator has 2 -6AN inputs and 1 -6AN output.

I was thinking about just capping one of the inputs.

Re-routed my fuel lines. Removed the T connector as suggested.

Pump -> -6AN to passenger fuel rail -> -8AN crossover -> driver fuel rail -> -6AN low profile 90 degree fitting -> Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator -6AN IN and the other IN is capped.

Didn't finish this till 11pm so I couldn't take a test drive. But my idle pressure seems better. Not rock solid, but not swinging +/- 30psi.
