85 GSL-SE with 1998 LS1/T56 up and driving!

First of all, I want to know how in the world some of you guys are using the Granny's mounts?????

I waited a year for Grant to send me the LS1/FB mount kit, and it was complete garbage. The engine wasn't close to lining up or sitting in the engine bay properly. The engine stuck out of the hood and leaned towards the firewall at an extreme angle. I think my mounts were made wrong, or were misplabeled and I got shipped the wrong ones. But at the time (about 3 years ago) I didn't know that bc I couldn't find anybody that had used his mounts. And he said "major sheetmetal triming required" so I was like well, okay!!

At any rate, I couldn't use them so I started from scratch and made everything myself.

Im very jealous that some of you guys have used their mounts with success!

Such a PITA with the oil pan/center link (I see some of you have cut the pan out like I did) and the gear box (because of header clearance), trying to maintain ground clearance etc, but it's all done and working now.

Car weighs 2,520 lbs with a full tank of gas and basically full interior.

Stock LS1 with custom SS longtube headers and true dual 3" exhaust with X pipe.

Rear tires are 295-50-15's, fronts are 205-50-15's.

Fuel system is a Bosch 044 custom mounted in the tank, -6 hardline to a corvette FPR.

I cut the rear fenders out to clear the tires (rubbed on suspension compression), and I'm going to flare the rear.

I'll post more pics if anybody is interested in seeing it.

The car is an absolute blast! I was hoping it would weigh a little less, but oh well! 2700lbs with driver aint too shabby!

Are you using yours inline or in tank?
I tried inline at first but i decided to mount
it in tank bc I haven't had good luck with inline
pumps in the past

Keep talking Jon. Soon enough I'll be on the road and I'll do 60k miles before she needs any maintenance other than oil ;)
