FD Exhaust size and fitments
« on: June 02, 2010, 01:32:12 PM »
What size pipes are you running all the way back?
What muffler?
How many tips?
How big are the tips?
Would you use your setup for a daily driver?

I'm going to be getting a custom exhaust with my setup and want to do true dual all the way back but the shop can only bend 2.5" and I don't want to lose performance. Of course a single 2.5" won't be enough but it made me curious what everyone else was running.
I asked about the muffler because I want the quietest I can get without losing performance; yeah, I know it will never be quiet.

Edit: Forgot my sig doesn't have mods anymore. LS2, custom true equal length long tube headers, 228/232 cam, ported & polished heads, ported intake manifold, Holley throttle body, blah blah blah.

JTR 1-3/4" Longtubes
2-1/2" Tubes merge together at Y-pipe
3" Single pipe to the 3" In-Out Magnaflow Single Tip Muffler

Wish I could have gone with 3-1/2" Y-pipe to muffler... but the shop that did the work didn't have that capability.  Either way, Sounds amazing!

Hinson mids
3"- Y pipe Custom pancake pipe compliments of a speed bump

3.5"- From y to catback
95mm~ 3.74"- Apexi catback

Entire setup has the bling factor but was expensive and overkill IMO.

Hinson's headers aren't real long tubes, at least the ones that BAD-LSX has aren't.   They're a long mid-length header.

I have mine heading to the fabricator tomorrow.  Here's the set up.

JTR 1 7/8 with 3" collectors > Mandrel bent 3" pipe >
Magnaflow Muffler 2 In/1 Out (Internally this is a Y-Pipe) with 3" inlets and 3" outlet (Mounted in the trans tunnel) >
Mandel Bent 3" pipe to PFS Cat Back

Should be relatively quiet and free flowing
