FD Shifter Hole Thermal Plates for sale!
« on: September 14, 2011, 01:44:31 PM »
I now have an inventory of thermal shifter plates ready for immediate shipping. I have two different styles of Shifter Plates:

1. The first "Pro5.0-style" will fit FD RX7's using Samberg, Hinson, Sikky, and Grannys mounting systems using stock, Pro5.0 and most other stock-style T56 Shifters .

2. The second "MGW-style" will fit FD RX7's using Samberg, Hinson, Sikky, and Grannys mounting systems using Fbody MGW shifters with the offset block oriented at 6 o'clock .

One problem many owners have with their swaps is that they have to notch the factory transmission tunnel to accommodate the further forward location of the shifter on a T56.  This prevents the factory lower boot from being used and many people just run without it, dealing with the heat, fumes, and noise that come through this gaping hole.  I have designed a solution that incorporates a flexible boot that fits extremely tight around the shifter handle and a powder coated adapter plate which uses the factory RX7 shifter boot studs. The adapter plate is lined with high temperature foam stripping that when compressed makes a very tight seal with the uneven surface of the RX7 sheet metal tunnel. The combination of a tight sealing boot and plate means a significant decrease in heat, sound, and fumes entering into the cabin... I honestly can't believe how long I put up with this!  I have sold well over 100 of these plates so far and the buyers have been extremely happy  :D .

Pro5.0 Style:  Price is $65.00 shipped via USPS priority mail anywhere in the U.S.A. ($15.00 Extra for International Shipping)
MGW Style: Price is $95.00 shipped via USPS priority mail anywhere in the U.S.A. ($15.00 Extra for International Shipping

Kits include the following:

  • Rubber Shifter Boot Assembly
  • Laser Cut Adaptor Plate Powder Coated (Black), w/installed Insulator Stripping
  • All required Screws & Nylon Locking Fasteners

Hey Matt.  Now that I'm picking up my T56 today with a MGW shifter, I can be of assitance in sizing up a cover that works for the MGW.  The ENTIRE interior is out of my car so it's easy peasy.  Let me know if you need anything.
