How does Ohlins compare to Zeal for the FD street driven?
I haven't seen a shock dyno chart for Zeals, but Ohlins are some of the most digressive dampers I've seen. This means you get very, very good low speed damping, which makes them extremely comfortable on the street, but at the same time you get high performance high speed damping for the race track.
Another great feature on the Ohlins is the temperature sensitive flow valve. This gives you consistent damping whether the dampers are hot (track conditions) or cold (street conditions).
In my opinion they provide the best compromise between street comfort and track performance. The only other coilovers in the same league are Moton and Penske, but those are both track only dampers and won't be as comfortable on the street (Ohlins does offer track only dampers as well).
