Mazda Team Support program
« on: May 20, 2020, 02:02:53 PM »
I made a similar post on the FB group about Mazda's Team Support Program.

Over two years ago I went to work for Mazda Motorsports as their technical specialist for the entire country.  Part of my job is R&D to develop new parts for our customers and our racers.

This seems like a community that may not be aware of what Mazda Motorsports does for Mazda racers in this country. We offer OEM and competition parts support, technical support, and contingency payouts (the largest of any manufacture) to those that are racing Mazdas in the US.

Please check out our page, and go to the “Get Started” tab to see if you qualify for the program. The simple answer, is if you use your Mazda on track in some way or are building it to use on track you qualify.

https://www.mazdamotorsports.com/  We do have JDM 99 Spec parts, body brakes, ect…..

If any one has any questions please reach out to me.

That's awesome Josh.

I bought a ring and pinion for my old Miata years ago through that program, but haven't had race results to submit to remain qualified in the program.

Are swapped cars eligible, or does it have to be Mazda powered?
Also, the race car I'm working on now is powered by a Mazda/Ford joint engine, but the body is patterned after a Mustang.  Would the motor qualify that car as well?

Thanks,
David

Swap cars are ok for the most part.  Its usually a reduction in pay out for contingency if anything.  But if you still want to buy parts for the Mazda part we will still support that.

As for the Mazda powered car it would work if it was a Formula car but being its a mustang body that I don't think would fly.

Thanks Josh.  It's actually a tube framed 3/4 scale stock car, built by Pro-Challenge racing.
The body is a fiberglass shell, and it will probably be listed in race results as a Pro-Challenge.
The motor is the Ford Duratec 4-cylinder, which is also the Mazda MZR series engines.  The biggest difference is that Ford and Mazda each use their own ECU's.

Mazda really believes in standing with their customers no matter how old the vehicle is.

So when do we get NLA interior and exterior cosmetic parts? :-)

Oh and A/C parts and sunroof parts.

For what car?  I can look at it but if its NLA it will be hard to get it to come back.  For Japan to remake them they want large orders that just will never sell.
