Brazing aluminium
« on: April 13, 2019, 05:31:34 AM »
Has anyone tried it?

I am struggling to find any places that will weld aluminium radiators.
I have some pin holes (as a result of welding) that I need to fix so I am looking at soldering them. I just don't want to completely trash my rad.

Any tips or advice anyone?

I've used brazing to hold together some non-structural parts. No tips to offer really, it was super easy and seemed nearly fool-proof. The trick mostly seems to be in selecting the right rod in the first place.

I've been watching a few vids now and it looks simple enough. It would be interesting to see if it would be good enough to attach a an6 weld on fitting.
