Samberg radiator kit in fd, hood won't close?
« on: February 04, 2016, 02:18:31 PM »
So I have a samberg radiator kit in my fd and the hood won't close when you attach the couplers from the air filter to the maf, to the throttle body.  The part that is making contact with the hood is the 90 degree coupler(pre-maf after the air filter).  And there isn't any more material to remove from the hood, without there being a hole in my hood.
So do I have the wrong parts? Am I missing something? I don't need a hood right? Kidding I need a hood.

Electrical tape on hood is where the 90 degree coupler is making contact

try loosening the bolts that hold the hood latch and slide it up as high as possible and tighten back, see if that gives you the clearance needed.

I bought silicone couplers and it fixed the problem. I didnt have to notch the hood. I'll post a few pics in a little bit.

You probably fixed it by now but I had to shave the couplers and there are actually 2 layers of sheet still where your hitting that you can remove from the hood, after I did all that I have a hairs width gap.
