JL Audio subs and Kenwood Excelon amps
« on: November 10, 2014, 06:27:49 PM »
I bought my RX7 2 years ago with a very nice sound system installed, but its just not what I need for a stereo system. The woofers have very little use, they are like brand new. The box is custom made to fit in the trunk of an FD. Here's what I have;
3 JL Audio 8" subwoofers (JL Audio 8W3v3-4)
Kenwood Exelon Mono amp  (KAC-X1R) 600x1 RMS @4ohms 1200 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms
Kenwood Excelon 4 channel amp (KAC-X4R) 75 Watts X4 @ 4 Ohms, 100 Watts x4 @ 2 Ohms

This setup is very loud in an FD. All amps and box with subs weigh 65 lbs

Asking $500 for everything. the subs alone cost $600

Does that go in place of the divider between rear bins and *trunk*?

Any installed pics?

I might have one installed picture. the rear strut brace runs across the top of the box and the speakers face rearward.

I have heard this system and it sounds really nice. Very good sound quality not just loud bass. Great price too. If I didn't  have a bunch of stereo stuff sitting in my room already I'd get it myself.

Id like it but Im trying to get rid of the FD not get more stuff for it ha.

Plus I dont have door speakers due to the bubble tech door panels, so I would need to figure out speakers before I get bass!
