December 2011: bikedad

http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=9418.0

A little history:

I purchased the car already built back in November 2008.
1986 FC from a member on the other forum "Old Skool Fool"
It needed quite a bit of work to really make it road worthy. The body was pristine but it barely made it home in one piece. I started with just getting it running correctly and somewhat reliably.
That involved some rewiring, carb replacement, drive shaft balancing, major interior work, suspension component replacements, differential replacement and the list goes on.

The current SBC 383 Stroker is the third iteration of motor since I purchased it.

Here's some info on the current build:

Engine:
-1979 SBC 383 Stroker deck plate ground.
-Callies 400 crank (balanced with rods and pistons)
-Howards rods and pistons
-Vortec Iron heads. Pocket ported, polished, SS 2.02 intake valves 1.60 exhaust valves and seats, Comp cams dual springs with Comp Cams roller rockers, screw in studs
-Edelbrock RPM Air Gap for Vortec intake
-Edelbrock Thunder Series 650 Carb
-Comp Cams Solid lifters
-Comp Cams Cam CS XS290S-10
Intake Lift= .540 Exhuast Lift=.558
Duration @ .015 Intake=290 Exhaust=298
Duration @ .050 Intake=252 Exhaust=260
LSA=110.0
-March Performance Serpentine Pulley system for SBC High Flow Short Water Pump
-ProForm Die Cast Aluminum Valve Covers for Vortec Center Bolt heads
-Skip White Billet Alternator mount for short water pump
-FluiDampr Street Series damper
-MSD 6A ignition box
-MSD Pro Billet distributor
-Hedman 69648 Elite Headers
-Quickfuel Return type FPR

Trans:
-T5 World Class (T5 14 spline 1" shaft)
-Centerforce Dual Friction clutch assy
-Custom DS by machineservice.com right here in Waukesha
-Pro-5.0 T5 shifter

Diff:
S4 TII 4:10

5 Lug swap
Eibach springs
KYB shocks

Some interior shots of the car....

I used to have the Granny's Speedo adapter connected to the speedometer but I kept breaking the cable due to the sharp angle. It would last about 200 miles and snap. I decided to just use the GPS as my speedo.

The cost of the MSD adapter to convert my stock Tach to the V8 cost more than the Equus Tach so I went with the after market tach. Besides, the Equus has memory.

The guages I built into the surround are Equus electronic guages. They work great.

The stereo is a Pioneer DEH-P4001HD Receiver with HD to Pioneer TS-D1302R 5.25" 2-way speakers in back. I forgot what the fronts are.

The interior is S4 save for the center surround and shifter surround which are S5.

The car did not originally come with storage bins but I purchased them from a member here a couple of years ago. (one of the easiest cheapest mods I ever did  :D)

The battery is in the compartment behind the driver.

The floor mats were made by a member here jstrouss. I don't recall his screen name.

The shifter boot was custom made by Indyparts here on the forum. I have a Pro-5.0 T5 shifter with a Steeda handle and my engine is in the front holes of the Granny's cradle which moves everything forward.

January 2012: Demon

Thanks for the votes and words, this is a fantastic forum to be a part of.

Onto the car:

It is owned by my brother in law (macnewma on here) and myself.  It has been a 4 year slow but fun project to make a car that can do any type of racing with just a simple change of tires, its no show car, it was built to be abused.

1993 RX7 R1
Stripped interior with a cage by izzys cages in St. Louis MO.
Ohlins DFV dampers
Hinson engine cradle/trans member
Samberg 8.8 IRS mount
DSS axles (not the big mac daddies) and DS
matt's shifter hole cover

2002 LS1 block
Eagle 393 rotating assembly 4.1" stroke
243 Heads CNC'd and hand ported by Bret Bauer
249/257 .651 .651 109 Cam by Ed Curtis
102mm FAST intake
102mm NW TB
1 7/8" LT Stainless Works headers
4" OTR intake with corvette K&N wide filter
LS7 MAF
Pez Harness
9 sec pass was done on a Speedfab Tune.
T-56 with unknown part inside
Planned upgrades if I ever get time away from work:
Dry sump system
Finish install of Racelogic traction control
Full sheetmetal dash
Possibly motor plate
Huge PFC brakes all around
