I've always loved the look of the RX7's , but never thought of owning one due to the fragile nature of the rotor engine.
That was until my brother (who is also a full time mechanic - which helps) suggested an engine swap......

I am a good way into the build process at the moment, I didnt start a build thread as I cant imagine there will be much interest in my amateur project. But a few friends wish to keep up-to-date with my project, so I though id start this thread. Hopefully by the end of today, I should have the thread up to date and current.
ENGINEIn the UK, if you want a LS engine with gearbox, you better be prepared to spend big money getting it. The other options of course are 2JZ, 1JZ, RB25, SR20 etc. But even the price of these engines were beyond me.
A little searching and I found an engine with a gearbox, that with a light sprinkle of aftermarket parts, could easily give a reliable 300hp, and potential for a lot more with a small investment.
The engine was a 5 Cylinder turbo, 4 valves per cylinder, lightweight aluminium block, from a.......,
volvoHere she is with a Getrag 265/5 gearbox with an adaptor plate made by a Swedish company.

Then i picked up this little gem, a 93 jap import with a blown rotor and lots of aftermarket parts bolted on!



Soooooo, The first ever Volvo powered FD..... May the project begin.
