Terrible service, will be my last order.
« on: July 11, 2013, 03:41:19 PM »
Aparantly parts are out of stock without making proper contact with their customers after ordering them. Also paid a high price for 2 day shipping.. turned out it was shipped normal mail. Said I would recieve a credit for shipping. Haven't seen it and really don't care, as im sure this will be my last order. Just warning everyone.

I won't be ordering from them again myself.

I called them to order a modified Wilwood master cylinder and expressed to them that I want to pay for it to be overnighted.  What did they do? Charge me for overnight shipping but sent it ground.  Received the part a week later and found the rod to be cut too short which wouldn't depress the slave cylinder all the way.  I just bought another Wilwood Mc from Summit and modified it myself.

I recently bought a modified master cylinder also.  It showed up in a priority mail box with all the loose fittings and parts literally thrown in the box.  I opened it and had 5 different pieces just fall out onto my work bench.  I was rather disappointed.

I ordered the Wildwood MC from them. I think it took about 3 weeks, which I guess is a long time in this day and age when everyone is used to getting things 3 days after they ordered it. It wasn't to long for me, and I got exactly what I ordered at a fair price. I remember ordering things back in the day mail order, before the internet, and 6 to 8 weeks was the norm.

For comparison I ordered my sub frame from Granny speed shop at the same time as the MC, and it took just over 2 months. Yeah that's a little bit long, but I read all of the complaints on shipping times, so I knew it was going to be longer than normal. I would do business with both of these companies again, and I would recommend them, you just have to realize it will take longer than you're used to.

I was planning to order one of their clutch master clocking pieces;  for the price it's worth getting theirs instead of making one (20 bucks).   Yeah, shipping was 25 dollars for a 5-6 ounce piece of aluminum.

Plus if I remember correctly you also have to buy their modified clutch MC. I bought that piece and it created some issue, I don't think the rod would reach the pedal any more, so I just run the reservior cocked to the side... no big deal even in heavy corners

Josh, I modded the rod, I just wanted the clocking adapter.

I ended up making my own out of ABS.

I ordered their mount kit, it came missing hardware and without instructions. Sent numerous emails, because I work all day at a restaurant it's hard to take time to call, without being replied to. Finally called was put on hold a few times and then they told me I could go to Home Depot and buy the parts that I already paid for. Needless to say I sent their shit back.

I bought some stuff from Hinson 4 years ago for my FD build. Modded Wilwood, clocking spacer(didn't use, wanted cruise), Drive Shaft, Optima Red Top (on sale). Shipping and packing was pretty good. Maybe it's hard to keep your heart in it when having a business keeps you from having a life.
So who had a subframe first, Hinson or Granny ?

edit I'm using their inboard bump steer correction and experienced none of the twisting others did. I saw the video and mine does not twist but I only have 65k on my chassis.

I modded the rod

Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

So who had a subframe first, Hinson or Granny ?

Probably neither.  I put V8s in more than 1 RX7 long before Torquecentral even existed, and I guarantee you my shop wasn't the first

unless you own a turbo ls9 rx7 you do not know what the fuck you are talking about.
