Do you guys know if everything will work wiring-wise on a  series II rx-8 with the swap? I know the engine/ecu are all different, but both of those will be changed out in the swap. My main concern is with the wiring for the things in the gauge cluster so that everything works properly and has an OEM function as much as possible.

This needs to happen as I have been bothering him for months to go ahead and decide to LS7 the RX8. lol

no "bothering" needed Blake, but the cost of this kit very well may dictate on if I keep and build the cobra or keep and build the dorito machine of death. I win either way. 1000+hp 3400lb. car or (what i'm going to guess) will be a 700+rwhp 3000lb. car. I was actually looking at Texas Speeds website and can get a new aluminum block, darton midsleeves, callies crank, rods, pistons, rings, bearing, heads, cam, etc...basically everything to have a longblock assembled, including ported heads and all valvetrain, for about what you spent on the LS1 :-P lol I think 11:1 compression (maybe up to 11.8:1) plus a healthy, healthy dose of nitrous will be more car than what 99% of the people will know what to do with. Not to mention the shock factory of getting absolutely drug by an RX-8 lmao

What good is an update? He'll just say "It should be ready soon.  Maybe in a month or two."  And when you ask again in a couple of months, because it still won't be ready, he'll say the same thing.  "It should be ready soon.  Maybe in a month or two."

There certainly is a lot of interest on RX8club.com, but who knows how many will actually commit when they realize the price. I am looking forward to this kit getting completed as well. In a few years I would love to build an LS powered turbo automatic RX-8. Running RX-8s can be found for cheaper than FD rolling chassis, and the interior is much nicer and quieter than an FD plus it fits 4.

Rx8's will seat 4....as long as 2 are midgets

did you take and just sew their feet to where the knee caps used to be? seems a little more humane doing that over just tossing 'em out and telling them to find a wheelchair  :secret:

We have driven our car a decent amount. We're hunting down a new scope for the electronics side. I plan on working on pricing for these parts next week and early January. Our plan is to roll out the S2000 and RX8 equipment in January. All of our hard parts and exhaust have been fixtured, CNC reproduced, and ready for production.

I haven't had a chance to update our website, but I posted some new pictures of the S2000 on our Facebook page. I'll be putting up a video of it running as soon as time allows.

Its been nearly a year since Hinson said they are ready to release the kit (after pricing is decided)...
