3/4 length long tube headers
« on: December 16, 2012, 06:11:06 PM »
So Ive been doing some r&d on eqal length headers for the fd. The primary's are about 21" and trying to get to the recommended tube length of 23". The other + is that the sub-frame is the lowest point of the car and not the headers. The only down side with this design is that the coil packs need to be relocated further up on the valve cover and full length wires must be used.

Pretty cool huh?

Nice!   That's a pretty gnarly setup.

The two top primary's are double the radius of the two just below and that's how we're able to get all the tubes so close to each other. The only hard part to repoping them just like this is finding a Cnc that has these radius's available. Not to mention they usually will only do one radius per tube.

Very cool!! What about mounting the coils under the headers on the side of the engine?

Those look pretty cool!

Are you planning on a heat shield for the coils? They look really close.

No we are going cut a bracket that moves them away. You will have run a full length wire. You probably thinking why do we run tubes the way the other headers on market are done and I just can't justify coping them and  being the 4th guy making same header as all other guys.

Plus we going to be able offer a y-pipe that only fits our headers.

Love that the subframe will be the low point on the car instead of the headers.

I assume you will be offering ceramic coating as well as all V-band connections?

Keep up the good work Justin!
