Yeah sure, that would be cool.

Pretty much finished the undertray. I should know better by now, but this too waaayyy too long

The rad is also back so I need to fire up the car and bleed it down.

Then all I need to do (he says) is find somewhere to MOT it, get an alignment, then book it in for a tune.

I've been spending time looking at my pinion angles. I ended up fitting a 10mm spacer to the solid mounts in the rear, and also raised the gearbox by fitting the extra plate that came with the poly mount.

I also modified the fog light switch by fitting an LED which I moved directly under the switch so that it is clearer to see when it's on.

I need to look into to alternative rad fans as the one I have is too low really. I need to find 2 smaller fans that are available in the UK. Hard to know what to go for as SPAL are expensive over hear and I hear that purely going by the flow numbers isn't a true guide to a fans performance.

Maradyne make really good fans as well. Not sure if you have access to them though. I've been using one for some time and am very happy with it.

I spent a few hours trying to make an ali heatsheild for my starter. I ended up getting very frustrated with it and gave up.

The headers aren't actually as close as I remembered, but the stock heatshield was touching the header.

I found some fibreglass fabric stuff so I just wrapped it in that for now.

Wrapping the headers would help a ton.

Well it's official, my car is tuned and on the road.

Here my thoughts:

1 - It's FAST! I mean for a lot of people it maybe nothing, but to me...shit. I am taking it slowly (tbh shitting myself a little) for now and building it up, but the power is relentless.

2 - I think I need to change my cam. I stink after I've been out in the car. My plan was to fit some cats but the tuner advised against it with this cam as the overlap causes a lot of fuel to pass through which can ignite in the cat and break it. A new cam should also gain me some economy and make it a lot easier to pass emissions.

3 - The tune needs some attention. It's rough on cold start and has a tendency to stall when I put it in reverse. It's tricky to drive a low speeds too, and the tuner said it's the cam, but I will do a little more research to see if it can be improved.

4 - The car darts a little. I need to get the geometry checked as I think something may have slipped as my steering wheel is off centre again.

5 - The climate control is pissing me off. I ditched the AC and got rid of the auto, off, and ac buttons. The problem is the fans are always blowing. Sometimes the recirc light is on and won't go off. Other times it's off and I can't make it come on. I guess there's some sensore I need to remove or short or something.

6 - The gearbox is rattling. It leaks so I know I have an issue, but when in 5th gear it sounds like a spanner isbouncing around on top of it. The noise varies when I wiggle the shifter and goes away when I shift.

7 - There is quite a lot of drivetrain noise. I initially thought it was a mechanical issue with my halfshafts, but now I think it's just the noise of the driveshaft. I am going to look at getting some kind of isolation. I saw that Ronin use re-enforced rubber washer so I will probably see if I can source some of them.

8 - Grip. I am really surprised at how grippy the car is. I am talking straight line here, but it just pulls real hard.

9 - I have found I feel a bit restricted. The shifter angle is really not working for me. I think I need to change it for a straight one. Also, with my driving position I find going around roundabouts tricky. My arm gets wedged between the steering wheel and the seat (am only 5ft 7 and have short legs). Not sure what I can do about that really, except blocks for my feet :)

10 - I need to sort a quieter exhaust. I already have a racing beat dual tip to fit and I will also fit a mid box. Maybe a borla xr-1 though I can't see why they are more expensive than anything else.

Anyway, it's nice to have it on the road after all these 7+ years. And massive thanks to everyone who has, and still are, helping me. I couldn't have done it without this forum. You guys rock!

The racing beat dual tip is just about as quiet as you can get. Unless you want more loud then the borla is a decent way to go.

You could look into a Varex muffler. They are adjustible. Almost like having a cutout built in. Should be quieter when closed.

I know each dyno is different, but what did it make?  Do you have a dyno plot?

I spent a lot of time looking at the varex, but I'd want it tied in to the throttle, not a manual switch.

I think vacuum operated is the way to go with that. I would have gone with the dynomax vt but read too many reports of rattles.

I have heard the racing beat is pretty quiet so I'm not 100% sure I will need a second muffler.

All I can say is buckle up because the real work starts now! Haha.

Depending on how picky you are it can take years to refine the car to where you want it.

The great news is, it is a hell of a ride!

I'm planning on getting a varex and not using their controller. I'll setup my ECU to open and close it. Do not give a crap about some goofy app on my phone. That's for Mustang owners.
