In response to marcelo_caz question, the way I heard it and some of our more informed members and project dc2 may disagree or add more info, is that low angle merge collectors are almost equal to a well designed normal collector at making peak horsepower. The difference is that merge collectors make more mid-range (under the curve) power. 1 7/8 primary tubes make a bit more peak power than 1 3/4 but again the differences are small with a oem cam and intake. If the intake, exhaust and cam are optimized to work together the differences grow larger.
