SOB Racing 87 with a 4G63
« on: April 28, 2012, 11:01:54 PM »
I brought home SOB Racing's new project car. 87 RX7 that the previous owner has swapped in a LS motor into. He pulled the motor/trans/radiator and driveshaft. Set up with aluminum turbo hood, LSD center pumkin from turbo car and 5 bolt lug conversion.

It's no way perfect on the body but it's originally a Nevada car with minimal rust. Interior is in decent shape.

I've got a lot of years running a 92 Eagle Talon but my Talon's body is on it's way out.  I also like running something a little different.

Plan is a 4G63 4 banger with a 16g or 20g turbo.  An adapter plate to get to a B2600 bellhousing and then a Turbo RX7 transmission.

Here's her coming home from Iowa

Interor is decent

Cool, seen some pretty gnarly 4G63s over the years.  :)

Thanks!  I'm guessing about 2500lbs w/o me.

Now I just need to locate a 87-88 B2600 bell housing and a decent Turbo TII trans so I can start mocking up mounts.

Few things done this weekend. Removed, overflow, washer bottle and wiper bottle to clean and paint. I labeled and removed the harness. This will allow me to prep for paint as well as strip out any unnecessary wiring from the loom. Threw the block in there for the hell of it as well.

I also spent some time in the shed and gathered up all the parts I need to complete the mock up motor. All I need to add is a alternator (have) and a valve cover (not really needed)

screaming88, you have a PM

My current 4G63 with a 14b (stock turbo) in my 3000lb awd Talon runs low 12's.  This car should come in around 2600 lb and with a slightly bigger turbo should run mid 11's.   Should be fun!

If you put a 20g on it, it would definately roll. My dsm @ 3150lbs went 11.3@123 on a buschur tdo5/o6 20g. This was back in 01-02.
