comparison pics of Fbody T56 to the new T56 Magnum.  I put the front bearing plates (where the bellhousing bolts to) at approximately the same side by side distance.  The difference you will see is in the shifter location and tailshaft length.

It's hard to tell in the pics, but is the support member mount in the same place(T56 vs Magnum)?  Same mount style?  Can you take a picture low down and from the back of the transmissions?

The shifter needs to come back a good 3-4 inches.

Looks exactly how mine was sitting. Curious to know what shifter you will go with Mark.

Isnt the SIKKY shifter the only option?

There have been a couple issues with their first ones, don't know how ready they are.

I'm going to go with the shifter my Tremec distributor offers shown on reply #17.  One should arrive Monday or Tuesday to see how it works out.  The linkage that moves it back 3-4 inches isn't shown in the picture!

BTW- The T56 Magnum's casting provision for the mount is about 2" closer towards the engine.  I am running the Samberg Fabrication mount and stock T56 Energy Suspension poly bushing which isn't dependent upon location as it is more of a universal location design.  Hinsons relies upon the stock FD trans mounting locations and won't work on a Magnum.
Straight forward install aside from that.

I like that idea a lot more!  Hopefully your Tremec guy has a good setup for a good price.

Does the Magnum have mounting provisions for the stock-style T56 mount, or the TR6060-style mount?  We made an adapter here for the TR6060 mount/isolator to go into the Samberg chassis mount hole, can probably make another one for ya until Justin makes a TR6060-compatible mount plate.

I haven't seen any problems with my sikky shifter. But then I'm far from driving my car. What have you heard?

Any more info on the Tremec shifter and it's function or positioning?

I'm still waiting on the shifter myself.  He was out of town promoting for Tremec at various events and is sending one to me this week supposedly.

So I put the T56 Magnum into my FD which originally had an Fbody T56 and the rubber trans mount locations are identical.  I'm running an Energy Suspension universal GM polyeurathane mount on it.

I didn't even need to redrill the holes in the floor for the Samberg steel trans mount itself.   They went back exactly like before!  The only difference seems to be the tailshaft length now and 31 spline output shaft.

Still waiting on this shifter to arrive.
