I love the .80 5th for performance shifting from 4th 1:1 it keeps the RPMs higher.... the .75 ratio is a very noticeable difference.... and if you are worrying about 1-2mpg on the freeway..... then maybe have another car for long distance driving which I would say most of us have.

Exidous-  My silver FD before going turbo had a 595rwhp 440ci LS and put the power down easily with a 275/35/18 NT01 and 3.55's.  I would not run 3.31's.... that's what I have in a 1200rwhp turbo LS9 setup in the car now.  The gearing is stupid long in 1st thru 4th.  In my gray FD with the LS7 making 530rwhp the 3.73's were great.... but I have a 335/30/18 NT01 out back.

The 6th ratio is more about RPM than fuel economy. I just hate running a lot of RPM while cruising. 75 is about the minimum average in Texas. As I said, I'd love the .8 5th and .5 6th. :-) maybe some day.

I'm at a 3.55 now and fear a 3.27 may feel a little tall in first. It would make the shorter magnum a tad more palatable on the freeway. 60mph in first would be pretty beat though. Like a c6 zr1.

The 440ci and small cam would help with a 3.27 though.

The .50 6th and 3.55 at 1800 nets 75mph.
The .63 6th and 3.23 at 1800 nets 65 mph.

Maybe even at a 3.23 that .63 doesn't look all that great on the freeway.

I ordered mine to be swapped with complete MN6 ratios, 2.66 first .74/.50 fifth and sixth.

How much extra did that cost? 5th and 6th driving and driven gears I'm guessing.

My motor isn't happy below about 2,000 rpm on the highway, so the shorter O/D would be great.
I may change my mind once I get some new tires on the car.  As it is I can spin them in 3rd. LOL

It wouldn't be too difficult or expensive to swap 5th or 6th gears between the narrow or taller version gear sets. It could be done by a novice with some hand tools in a couple hours if the trans is already out of the car.
5th/6th/reverse are located behind the tail shaft housing and don't require disassembling the whole gearbox to service like 1st-4th do.
Also, 5th/6th/Rev are splined onto the counter shaft, so they are independent of which gear set you bought. Whereas the 1st-4th gears are machined into the counter shaft.

After a little research it looks like the magnum uses two separate driven gears. If so you'd only need to buy two gears to get the .50 6th. That would be awesome.

Says it's for a 2010-2012 gt500. Are the blocker assemblies in the tr6060 and magnum the same?

I believe so. I purchased  TR6060 blockers/synchros and slider hub for my Magnum when I refreshed 2nd gear. Feels great and went together fine.
Here's a good diagram of the Tr6060. You'll have to pull Reverse and 5th to get to 6th.

Plastic. Mine looked fine so I didn't bother upgrading them to bronze when I had everything apart.

For those with Magnum's, what is your feedback with Redline D4?  I feel like mine actually shifted better with regular ATF during break-in.  I know I didn't notice any improvement with the redline and it almost seems "notchier"  when it is cold.  It seems to get better as it warms up but curious if anyone has a similar experience. 

Other than that, I do LOVE this trans.

Tremec and Redline publish the fluid viscosities on their site. I know viscosity isn’t everything, but the Tremec fluid is 200% as thick as D6 at 40*C. It’s 161% as thick as D6 at 100*C.

I originally tried Mobil 1 ATF (what Tremec recommended before they labeled their own fluid) and hated it. I switched to Redline D6, which is ~15% thinner than D4, hot and cold. D6 was a big improvement, especially in the spring and fall when the trans takes some time to warm up.

Glad to hear I am not the only one.  Either we both are crazy or the D4 isn't as good.... I will have to look into their new fluid as well.

I had Mobile 1 ATF in my T56 and HATED it, was the worst shifting performance.  I then switched to Amsoil Torque Drive and it was by far the best feeling fluid in the T56. 

It seems Torque Drive is somewhat popular in the 6060, maybe I will just go that route since I have had good experience with it. 

I should reiterate that I don't think the D4 is terrible, just that I think the standard ATF I ran to break it in was better... So I think it can be better.
