There is nowhere in Joplin Mo that can get a hold of a windshield for my 89 rx7. Is anyone had issues getting a windshield replacement? They say the glass is obsolete.

I had my front windshield replaced a month ago and the local shop had no problems ordering the glass. Have you tried a national chain like Safelite?

I will check with them. I have tried three different places today and was told it was obsolete

Bumping an old thread.  Safelite doesn't carry the glass and I'm being told it's obsolete.  Anyone have solutions on FC windshield replacement?

Binswanger glass replaced mine in May of this year.  I suspect it's harder to get the optioned/antenna type windshields, but they had my plain glass one without tint in < 2 days.

Holy shit I hope this isn't true!!! I will call safelight today and see if I can get a windshield for my FC. FYI I'm told the vert windshields are interchangeable with coupes.

I wonder if it'd be worth checking different trim levels like Base incase the NLA is because of the internal antenna.

I found one on ebay so having it shipped direct to me and will have to get someone to install it.

Charlie S ( @Bowtie7 ) was kind enough to confirm s4 and s5 interchange.  There might be a color change on the tint band (green vs blue) but at least they fit.  Should be nice to have a new windshield regardless, mine was getting a bit sparkly from grit and age.

Huh.

We needed a new windshield for a Lemons FC, I called up "Low Priced Auto Glass", local to me in Moundhouse, Nevada -- yes, where the brothels are -- and they ordered it, got it in a few days, $100 cash and carry, meaning they didn't install (they could have; we didn't want them to). Acted like it was no big deal to get one.
