Under a rock in the PNW
« on: September 18, 2011, 05:26:20 PM »
Greetings! Im Brad from the Seattle area. I own a 2007 Rx8 and recently bought a 1992 Rx7.

I was a lurker on V8Rx7club for along time as well as 7club. I always wanted an FD but never had the cash to buy one nor would a bank loan me any money. I opt to get an Rx8 because it was close enough for me. I loved the body lines and it made for a great B-Stock car. Bought my Rx8 brand new with around 50miles on it. I spend a lot of time autocrossing my Rx8, most events that happen around here I try to make. The car is awesome but lacks like 50-75Hp to really make it more enjoyable. Ive had some of the best/worst times in my 8.

I got a little older, have had a better job, work 12hrs a day 7 days a week and could now afford a FD. Found myself a 92 Rx7 for sale so I picked it up. Now ive been plotting and planning my parts list of what I need to buy and what to fab. It will be awhile before I have some sort of a build thread going on. Cant blow the rest of my bank account just to keep them build thread whores happy lol. Taking my time on this plus working as much as I do, very little time at the end of the day to work or if I have energy to do so.

So a thread is worthless without any pictures.

Ill start with my Rx8; Tein Flex coilovers, progress tech sways, autoexe strut/chassis bracing and autopower rollbar (pretty much a harness bar lol), 18x9.5 RPF1 and stock besides K&N filter. Between these pictures you'll see the progress of my Sparco (forgot model) to Sparco Sprint5 to Brides.

Bad driving on brand new Hankook RS3, which do not like cold temps nor rain.

Now for the FD; It is just a roller on Cusco coilovers. Car sits for awhile in a friends warehouse as I clear a better spot for it in the garage.

Cheers!  :yay:

Thanks for the welcomes ;) this weekend I'm going to dig around some local wrecking yards. Zero rush. Wasn't planning on doing anything real major till after the new year. Though if a deal pops up I won't turn it down :)

Welcome! I am in Everett so fairly local to you. Do any junkyards besides Coveys have FCs and FDs?

No idea. Don't visit them enough and when I do, not really looking for Mazda stuff.

If you see me around town wave your hands out the window like a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man.

RawrX8 - You plan on attending the Corksport meet tomorrow?

Nevermind just noticed you're in Seattle not Portland...
Richard.

I work pretty much 12hrs a day, unless its an autocross day  :yay:. Have to fund this LS project some way. We do have Dick's meets time to time with the 8 crew in Seattle off 45th.
