I never got a phone call Todd and i have a fc AND a fd that we could have test fitted. I'm kinda disappointed in you.

lol, well I'm a little disappointed that I haven't heard about your FD until now!  :P

Actually, Mike has been tracking this but I think the FC deal might still be available.  Let us know if you are still wanting in and we'll work something out.

Hope to see at least one of them up at the track this year!   :drive:

Where the FD has problems is the shoulder area hitting the door panel.  I don't have time right now to go look at the differences but the FX1 pro JUST won't really fit. So if these are smaller they may.  The low thing is much needed in the FD too.

If you take a look at the FX1 Pro dimensions below, it looks like the new Sportline Evolution is 1.5" narrower at the shoulder. Hopefully that is enough and combined with the low cushion height it could be a very nice fit.

But if I had to do it again I'd get one with both ports on the passenger side.

As for the differential.. you either use the stock one or go 8.8" it seems. 8.8" are very strong.

The radiator that we used had both ports on passenger side.

We used the stock differential, but my son is considering an 8.8" as a modification later on.

Great post guys. What radiators are you running and what differential would you recommend for a mild build.

Thanks
Phil

We used a Griffin dual pass radiator. Fits great and absolutely no problem keeping things cool :)  You can find pics of it here:  http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=16192.0

- We used the stock fuel tank.  Our pump is a walbro inline and a filter/regulator from a Corvette.  We did run a new line as well. It all worked out very well.

what year was your sa/fb? I have a 79 (carbed) and the stock tank did not cooperate with my inline walbro 255. My pump would whine insanely loud, it hardly got fuel, etc. I put a fuel cell in that fed from the bottom to the pump and boom nice quiet pump. They are pushers and the only way they pull fuel is through vacuum. Nice looking swap by the way.

It is an '85 GSL.  My son put some other pictures up (including fuel pump) here: http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=16192.0

I'm amazed at how nice this car drives. No funny vibrations or noises. Actually hooks up quite well also.  And for a stock L33, it really goes good.

Your build looks great as well! Do you have a build thread where I can see more?

Good work!  My son & I recently completed (well almost complete) a similar build.  Will address a few things that I read here that might be helpful for you.

- We did relocate the battery as was suggested Burntz.  It worked out very well.

- We located the PCM on the firewall just behind the washer fluid reservoir.

- We did use the 2010 Camaro exhaust manifolds as was already mentioned here. My son's car has power steering and the gearbox is larger than the manual steering version. So it was very tight and this was the only manifold that we found that would fit.

- We used the stock fuel tank.  Our pump is a walbro inline and a filter/regulator from a Corvette.  We did run a new line as well. It all worked out very well.

- In our case we did build our own harness by starting with a truck harness that was very inexpensive. But sounds like you already have that covered.

A few pictures showing the PCM location, part of the battery relocate etc. can be seen here: https://plus.google.com/photos/101356112529572758733/albums/5898085092700489697?authkey=CIj498Gr16CyygE

We can get you some other pictures etc. if that would be helpful.

Great work! Anxious to keep tabs on your progress.

My son has his FB down there.  Parked with a bunch of Impala's in the northeast part of the fairgrounds.  I'll be heading down there tomorrow.  Would love to check out some of your cars.  Post where you will be parked tomorrow...

My son just got his '85 on the road this week.  It runs/drives very nice.  We just need to get the speedometer calibrated and a couple of other minor things.

FYI, we used a modified LS2 pan on his and it fit really nice with great clearance. Power steering, cooling etc.  all working well. Quite a few photos are already posted here but we can get specific photos for you if it would be helpful.

I'll be keeping an eye on your build.  Have fun!

Thanks for correcting that halfspec!

Took a picture of the finished battery relocation so I figured that I'd post it up.  I'm the helper on this project  8)

Have you checked your ground for bank 1 injectors?  Since each injector fires individually and there is a common ground, that would be the first thing that I would check.
