General Tech / Re: Dorman ls2 intake?
« on: May 25, 2018, 09:59:57 PM »
Nice. This intake and my firewall did not play nice together. I am going to take some material out of it (the entire vacuum port area) and try to get it on the car.

I had to cut off the map sensor location on the rear, seal it, and extend my harness to the front of the intake.

I put down 450rwhp with the Dorman 615-901.  It was flowing decent on the big end carrying a flat hp curve.

General Tech / Re: Back from the dead and have a Throttle Cable question

I think I figured it out myself.  Got bored and looked up photos of the FD pedal assembly.  Looks like there's a pedal stop that I can mill down to allow more pedal travel  :bacon: :bacon:

General Tech / Back from the dead and have a Throttle Cable question
« on: February 16, 2018, 12:15:37 PM »
What's up everyone?   Probably been a few years since I've posted.  I've just been busy letting the car collect dust.   I got a wild hair up my ass a few months ago and slapped a set of PRC 225 heads and topped it off with a dorman 615-901 intake and 92mm Nick Williams throttle body.  Problem I'm having is that my throttle cable travel isn't enough to fully actuate the throttle body blade.  I've adj the cable ends.  I can either have it closed and only open 90% or have it open 100% and stay 10% open.  Whats the trick to get more travel?

Thanks in advance

I got asked to make a video of my car by Quinton TV and had it posted up this morning.  I have a side bet with a friend that has the DMC DeLorean on there as to who can get the most views, so make sure to give mine a watch lol.

I built my car in '05.  Does that mean 0% norotors?

Had a buddy call and asked if I wanted to cruise out to Killeen's first C&C meet with him and a buddy.  So I knocked to dust off, rounded out the flat spotted tires, and saw some pretty cool cars.  One of the guys made a pretty good video.  Check out his other videos too.  Small car review channel with a feature of my car coming later.

I heard the guy off camera says it's Jesus Christ's.  I'd ask him or that Ryan Dao guy in the comments that seems to know the car.

Thought I'd throw a link up to yesterday's Cupcake Meet 24 parade laps around Circuit of the Americas.  It was nice just to get the car out and drive it.  I'm ashamed of how long it sits in between knocking the cob webs off  :(  Luckily they had an 80mph limit, because my summer tires weren't liking the 32 degree temps  :drive:

I wanna say the door frame sticker says '92 on mine but it's titled as a '93.

edit:  Actually it was built in 2/92.  I have an EARLY chassis  :secret:

+1 on both suggestions.

I rebuilt my boat's carb watching youtube videos in the garage.  There's really nothing to it more than making sure EVERY hole and passage is clear and free from debri/corrosion.  Set the float level and don't pinch any gaskets on the assembly.   Piece of cake

When setting the float, if it's too high, no fuel will enter the bowl, and it's two low it'll flood like crazy.

The Lounge / Re: my fd vandalized
« on: July 16, 2015, 05:07:08 PM »
I feel your pain brother.   My FD has been broken into 3 times over the years.  They trashed my interior plastics years ago ripping out the stereo.  It's incredibly frustration for some shit stain to come tear up your hours of hard work.  I only keep liability insurance on my FD for the same reasons your going through.  The insurance will fuck you and total it over a fender bender or the such.   Other than Hagerty or the such, you really only have two options.  Fix it yourself on your dime, or go full race car and live with cosmetic issues.

I had good results plasti dipping my boat this season and plan on hitting the FD to protect from scratches.   Since you have the window on the way, I'd look at wrapping it or dipping it, and leave insurance out of it.

^Lol, we do have a lot of grease pits down here in Texas.

Was just wondering about you the other day Kyle, glad to hear your getting back into it!

LOL what's up man?  I've been so busy with the boat and trying out props, that the rx7 got abandoned.  With the lakes being closed due to flooding, I finally got a wild hair up my ass and went got it inspected/registered.    Having to wear pants to work and then driving a black on black car with no a/c is terrible, and starting to remember why I parked it lol.    The lakes are down and the ramps are open.   Head up to Temple if you wanna go cruise the lakes or the streets.
