I posted this on the Facebook page, but want to make sure everyone sees it.

NoRotors customers are my best clientele and I would be willing to do a group buy type deal if I could get 5 of them. I typically do 15% off on the Speedhut gauges when having me do the cluster modifications/mounting. I can double that discount and do 30% off on the gauges for this group buy. This would get the average price down to $1000 shipped.  You can check out some of my previous FD, FC and FB clusters in the following links.

FC and FB Clusters:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/132432358@N04/albums/72157652893970755

If interested at all, please post here and/or email me at: Toby@BroadfieldCustoms.com. Please include "NoRotors Group Buy" in the subject field. If you already know what type of gauge attributes you want, then please include those in the message field. Or if you want a different gauge setup... like moving the fuel level over to the speedo and adding a 6th meter where the fuel level was, then let me know that also. Or any other questions you may have, we can address that via email or in this thread. Once we iron out what you want, I'll email you a quote and we can go from there.

NOTE: If you plan on refinishing your panels or having them carbon overlaid etc, then that needs to be done before sending your facia, hood and cluster to me. I do offer a real nice satin black texture coating service where I coat whatever you send me. The typical package would be coating the driver and passenger door trims, facia, hood, radio/hvac trim, shifter trim and ash tray... runs $300.

I haven't posted here in some time... not sure if the forums are even still used much!?!  I have lived on the Facebook page for the last couple of years and kind of forgot about where it all started... right here!

Just wanted to take the time to post some clusters that I have done lately.  I still strictly use and sell Speedhut gauges for the FB, FC and FD clusters.  Please email me directly at:
Toby@BroadfieldCustoms.com or use the contact form through my website:  http://www.broadfieldcustoms.com/contact/ if you want to discuss options and pricing.  Please feel free to ask me directly in this thread also.

Some of these are direct retrofits where I maintain the OEM warning lamps and turn signals.  Others have those items deleted and then texture coated in a satin black.

Pics and Videos / Custom FD Cluster With AimSports MXG
« on: October 05, 2015, 09:05:16 PM »
Just finished this up for a customer.  Deleted gauge openings, turn signals, warning lamp windows, cruise control button and odometer trip opening from the cluster.  Then went back and flush mounted the new AimSports MXG display.  On the radio/HVAC trim, I deleted the A/C button, recirc button and dimmer switch.  Lastly, the shifter trim had all five button locations deleted.  All panels finished in a texture coat and topped off with a medium grey.

Broadfield Customs / Viper Ultimate Vehicle Security Package
« on: October 05, 2015, 12:41:50 AM »

In my 22 years of installing/selling Viper product, I have learned what add-ons are worth the money and which ones are not.  So with that knowledge, I have hand picked the most popular sensors and modules and paired those with the new Viper 3706V security system.  The package will include the following items:

  • Viper 3706V 2-way security system
  • VSM350 GPS SmartStart
  • 506T Audio Glass Break Sensor
  • 520T Battery Backup System
  • 507M Digital Tilt Sensor
  • 509U Ultra Sonic Sensor

The ultimate security system will provide the following features and I'm sure a slew that I'm forgetting:

  • Rechargeable LCD remote with 2-way confirmation feedback and trigger alerts from up to 2000 feet.
  • Dual stage impact sensor.
  • Will monitor all entry points of vehicle: doors, hatch/trunk and hood.
  • Built-in starter kill.
  • Legendary 5-tone Viper siren.
  • Lock, Unlock and trunk/hatch release outputs.
  • Multiple auxiliary outputs.
  • Will detect the sound of breaking glass.
  • Will detect air disturbance in vehicle... so detects motion.
  • Will detect if the vehicle is lifted 1 degree.
  • Battery backup will kick-in when main power is lost from the vehicle.  It will also trigger the alarm if power is lost from the vehicle.
  • GPS SmartStart will allow full control of the security system from your smart phone app, from any distance as long as you and the vehicle have cell coverage.
  • You will receive text messages on your smart phone when the security system is triggered.
  • You will be able to track your vehicle directly from the app via Google maps.  You can track the progress of the moving vehicle by simply tapping the refresh button, as often as you like, on the map.  You can choose from satellite imagery mode or standard map mode.

NOTE:  All features above are assuming that the install is done properly and that all of those features are installed/connected.  So if you do not have power locks in the vehicle, then the Viper obviously cannot control your locks unless you add actuators... which I sell;)

NOTE:  SmartStart modules require a yearly service plan.  The GPS SmartStart is $99/year.  So pretty cheap in my opinion... that amount of money can easily be spent during a night out on the town.

First up is a custom mounted 6-gauge set and texture matched HVAC panel, shifter trim and ash tray:

Next is a 5-gauge set that I bonded the bezels directly to the back of the facia, giving it an ultra OEM look... especially with the Legacy Chrome bezels.  You will want a 5-gauge set if you are wanting to maintain you OEM warning lights and turn signals.  This setup also prevents me from having to finish the panel in a texture coat... I do not modify the OEM facia in any way on the front side.  NOTE:  If you want this setup, I can only use the Legacy bezels... which can be had in chrome, black or gold:

Last one is simply another custom mounted 6-gauge set:

I had Speedhut make some gauges to somewhat resemble the style of the Mazdaspeed gauge set.  Custom tick marks, numbers on the outer radius of the tick as apposed to Speedhut's standard inner.  Custom turbo icon, "<fuel door label" and custom orange illumination.  I also had them remove the programming button from the front of the speedo and move it to the back via a plug-in push button cable.

Broadfield Customs / Mazda FC RX7 Custom Cluster
« on: August 29, 2014, 10:14:02 AM »
I did this cluster several months ago before I was an actual vendor on here.  This was a sponsored cluster and the first FC that I had done.  I was trying to branch out from only doing Nissan s-chassis clusters all of the time.  The customer actually supplied these gauges on his own, consisting of a Speedhut 4" Dual GPS gauge, Speedhut 4" Quad gauge and an AEM Tru Boost gauge.  Keep in mind, the Speedhut gauges are customizable even beyond what they show on their site.  If you want different meter types in the Quad gauge, I can make that happen.  So if you want boost, EGT, wideband and fuel pressure... not a problem.  The Dual GPS gauge can also be switched around.  I prefer the large tach and the smaller speedo personally.  Or if you want a large speedo and a completely different smaller gauge, not a problem.  The only stipulation is that speedo needs to be one of the metering types within in the gauge.  So if you have any questions on what's possible with any Speedhut product, please ask.

Broadfield Customs / More of a conventional FD cluster setup
« on: August 17, 2014, 09:56:47 PM »
For this setup my customer wanted more of a straight forward gauge setup with drop in Speedhut gauges.  However, I did not like how the gauges "dropped" in.  Since my customer sent me a carbon facia to work with, I couldn't simply just fill the holes and make the gauges fit exactly.  So on the smaller gauges, I ground the back of the facia down.  I then made perfect black trim rings that the gauges would flush into and mount to the back of the facia.  Prices range from $900 - $1100 (customer supplies OEM cluster)

Broadfield Customs / Custom FD Gauge Cluster
« on: August 15, 2014, 09:28:04 PM »
Just finished up a customers FD cluster with Speedhut gauges.  I wanted to do something different than the standard layout.  So I talked him into a 6-gauge layout.  I ABS bonded all of the OEM openings closed... which included the 5 OEM gauge openings, 2 turn signal openings, odometer/trip reset opening and the 2 dummy light window openings.  I then went back and put the new gauge openings where I wanted them so I could flush mount the Speedhut gauges into place.  Even though this is one of the ways I make a living, I'm always willing to share my skills and knowledge.  I'm a huge DIY supporter and am willing to help where/when I can.  So please feel free to ask if you have any questions on the process etc... or if you want a quote ;)  Here are a couple of crappy cell phone build pics followed by my hi-res finished pics.  Prices range from $900 - $1400 (customer supplies cluster)

Broadfield Customs / Broadfield Customs Intro
« on: March 28, 2014, 11:44:29 PM »
I just want to introduce myself as a new vendor.  My name is Toby Broadfield and I am the sole owner and sole fabricator at Broadfield Customs.  You will ONLY deal with me throughout the whole process.  I specialize in retrofitting gauges and other electronics/devices into interior panels and gauge clusters.  Every piece I make is one-off custom and built-to-order.  The customer sends me the panel or cluster in which they want the electronics installed into, along with said electronics, and I mold it into the area requested.  My flavor is OEM styling.  So I will do a satin smooth or texture coat to best match the original finish.  If you are a perfectionist like me, then I recommend sending me any adjacent panels so I can match them all together with my finish.  There will be additional fees associated with this, but they are typically pretty minor.  However, if you want flashy, then I can accommodate that.   I'm also an authorized Speedhut dealer if you would like to purchase those through me for a one-stop-shop.  I have not done much work in the Mazda community, so please bare with me as I learn the interior panels, clusters etc and figure out what will fit where.  I do not like to cram things in for the sake of squeezing in as much as possible.  Again, I strive for the natural, flowing OEM look.  Please note that I'm typically 4-5 weeks out from the time I receive your panel(s) for modification.  Please check out my website and social media outlets below:

New Members/Introductions / New Member/Vendor - Broadfield Customs
« on: March 25, 2014, 08:44:03 PM »
I joined a couple of years ago and I'm pretty sure I never made an intro thread.  So since I just became a vendor here, I would like to take this time to kill two birds with one stone!

My name is Toby Broadfield.  I'm the owner/fabricator of Broadfield Customs.  I specialize in retrofitting gauges/electronics into interior trim panels and gauge clusters.  My style is the OEM look... like it could of came from the factory that way.  Every piece I make is one-off custom.  The customer and I go over how they want it, I may make some suggestions, then I make it happen.  I'm also an authorized Speedhut dealer... which makes for a one-stop-shop.  I have not had the pleasure to do much in the Mazda world, but I'm always trying to expand my vehicle-type offerings... which is why I'm here.
