Pics and Videos / Took my Supra to a sketchy dragstrip...
« on: November 02, 2014, 09:51:10 PM »
After a long and crazy busy season, I was able to squeak out a chance to go up to a little bit of a sketchy dragstrip to get some seat time on the car before the winter rolls in and shuts everything down.  (All the good local tracks are closed already)

There is definitely some improvement available in the first 330' and I can quicken up the shifts to drop some ET and pickup some MPH.

Here is a vid:  http://youtu.be/wEzVazMCjto

Car details:

'95 Supra Turbo
original 6spd car
8.5:1 Compression Stock piston/Eagle rod
HKS 280 cams
Tilton 3 plate
ProEFI 128 tuned by Larry Prebis @ Sound Performance
Precision GT42-76mm Billet Comp wheel (NON CEA)

I dyno'd the car last time at 43lbs of boost and was having some issues at the track getting it to hit full boost (I got it closer, just need to tweak settings) and was only getting 36-38lbs, so I am guessing that's putting me around 950whp.

Sadly this track doesn't have 330', 1/8MPH, and 1000' on the time slip to help paint the full picture.

1.483 60'
6.422 1/8 ET
9.753 1/4 ET
150.85 MPH

I'll try to post up here for people to check and see what the main group is doing.

Everyone is welcome to start heading to my house! I'm out getting the food but friends are at the house in the barn so they can let everyone in!

« on: June 11, 2014, 05:02:01 PM »
So I will be keeping a few running lists for people that have used the VBOX system.  Most common ones are 60-130 and 0-60.  Most lists that are out there do not require proof, I will.  To be added to the list you must email me the .vbo file to vboxlistuploads@gmail.com

Parts for Sale / WTB: HELP!! Looking for 1 Toyo R888 305/30/19
« on: May 12, 2014, 05:35:39 PM »

Toyo Proxes R888 305/30/19

Well, this is what I get for dragging my feet, they were in stock 2 weeks ago and I went to order them Wednesday last week and I could only find 1. According to tirerack and tiresdirect they are on nationwide back order from 2 weeks to 60 days.

Does anyone have one they are not using or know of a place that stocks them?

Let me know! Thanks!

Parts for Sale / FEELER: FS: 393 LSx 520whp Intake to Oil Pan
« on: May 12, 2014, 01:15:36 PM »
I am looking at a few options to go with our car this year, and it involves deciding what engine I should go with.

This engine does NOT have to leave my possession, as it is a GREAT engine that has a huge powerband and makes great power for its combo/displacement.  But I have a friend that is debating on selling me an engine that would be better for what I want to do with the car. (Road racing with full suspension/slicks/aero).

Anyways, onto the details.

2500 miles (Estimated)
2002 LS1 block
Eagle 393 rotating assembly 4.1" stroke 3.905" bore
243 Heads CNC'd and hand ported by Bret Bauer
249/257 .651 .651 109 Cam by Ed Curtis
102mm FAST intake
102mm NW TB
LS7 MAF
Pez Harness
Fbody oil pan

Here is the dyno graph from the engine with a t56 behind it and a 3.73 gear:

$7,000 OBO

Electronics / ProEFI Fuel Compensation saved my motor!!!
« on: October 27, 2013, 01:05:19 PM »
Put my car up on the dyno last night at a local dyno day.  I mixed in some e98 to bring up the ethanol percentage and apparently I found the limit of my fuel pump by increasing the fuel flow requirements of the higher ethanol %.

Here is a screen shot of the dyno log:

Red = RPM
Gold = Injector Duty Cycle
Purple = Boost (Max of 42.8psi)
Green = Fuel Pressure
Light Blue = Fuel AFR Target
Dark Red = Actual AFR

At the Vertical line, that marks where the fuel pressure started to not climb with boost pressure, and you can see it level off then start to nose dive. The injector duty cycle climbs to 99% and holds it there until the end of the run because the AFR never got out of control, so it didn't need to invoke a rev limit.

If you look at the dyno sheet, the power is smooth and if you look at the fuel curve at the bottom, it is as flat as can be. (Although reading in Gasoline AFR).

Gotta love ProEFI in action!!!

Pics and Videos / Took the Supra out for a little photoshoot
« on: March 23, 2013, 06:55:50 PM »
Did some engagement photos for our wedding coming up and the woman wanted to include the cars.  I washed and detailed both of them yesterday so I could get them out to Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  I have a few connections so I was able to pull some strings and got some cool photos.  These are just from my iphone, I'll post up the real pics when I get them in a few weeks.

Had to take advantage of this excuse to get the cars in a cool spot for a photo.

Fabrication / Making a fuel pump hanger... from scratch.
« on: February 20, 2013, 07:57:35 PM »
WARNING: NOT RX7 RELATED

So I wanted to make an in tank mount for my Fuelab 42402 fuel pump into my '95 Supra.  Not many people mount these pumps in tank cause they are pretty large.  Fuelab says they are safe to mount intank and even sell the stainless sock filter seen in pics below.

Started out with a cylindrical chunk of 6061-T6 that was 5" diameter by 3" long, and another piece that was 1 1/2"x3/8"x3'.

lots of undocumented machining later:

So it fits! Time to take it apart and send it off to get anodized.

Mucho thankso goes to theantirotor for helping me with machining guidance.
