At the top of this section is a wheel fitment guide. should have everything you need in there to figure out what setup will work for you.

Also the Rx7club.com site has much of this information as well, i believe they even have a thread dedicated to photos of different fitments.

Just keep in mind Holley only works with Holley.

This is mostly true, however there are some DIY solutions with a windows based tablet. I haven't seen it done in the Rx7 but i have seen others make a custom dash bezel for a windows tablet (7" or 9") running the holley software. Works really well.

If you have any questions about the Holley stuff let me know, I've worked through a bit of it on my car. Though i am using a stock gauge cluster cause i just like that 80's look in the car.  8)

Also, since this is the how to thread I wanted to point out an additional item.

For the Wiper Motor harness that was part of the engine harness. If you forget to cut this harness off before disposing/selling the engine harness I want to point out that this is a pretty typical 6-pin power connector that is used in other location on the chassis harness. As I removed all dead wiring from the emissions harness i found that I had three harness that all work for this application. The one I ended up using is the Starter Cut Relay harness but i believe the AAS harness will also work if you installed aftermarket suspension this will be available to you as well.

All you need to do is take one of the other 6-pin harnesses no longer in use and modify the pin-out for the Wiper Motor.

So I've had the seals on for about a month now. I still have to slam the door a bit but is slowly improving over time. If that doesn't really bother you I would say it's at least a reasonable solution. I just wish it had like 2-3mm less and it'd likely be perfect.

Decided to try something out and we'll see how it works.

I purchased the following from amazon as the shape is pretty close and it has the tab on the inside of the car that runs on top of the plastic.

It fits on the channel well and looks pretty darn close to the OEM look.

I will say i believe it has a little thicker bulb then the stock seal and i have to "slam" the door to get it to fully latch. I've heard that can be common with new door seals but i suspect it just a hair too big.

For reference this bulb thickness is 16mm and i suspect that 12-14mm may provide a better fit if you can find it.

Good Morning All,

I finally figured out the part numbers for the body side door seals and tried to order them but apparently mazda-parts are out of stock and they are discontinued and Atkins is now sold out as well.........guess i shouldn't have tossed the old ones even though they were ripped a bit..

Anyway i'm trying to find a decent universal one but i don't know the size of the side bulb on the seal to make an informed decision on a replacement. Could someone please take a measurement of theirs and let me know? Or if you know of a suitable replacement that would be even better. The main issue i'm seeing with the universal ones is that they are missing the little tab on the inside that would cover the edge of the plastic trim...

I bought everything i needed to do the factory PCM installation for mine and then ended up changing plans and buying the Holley EFI system.

So I have the following laying around that i'm willing to part with:

Flashed PCM (for 721 injectors and ready for swap application)
LSx Engine harness already stripped and labeled (did not get to placement so you'd have to decide installation location and extend wires as needed)
2x O2 sensors
Set of EV1 injector harnesses

Let me know. I can send pictures if you are interested.

Thanks for all the help on this, I ended up switching to the Holley ECU and purchased the Holley oil pressure sending unit and put in the factory GM location then for the gauge went with the ICT mount above the oil filter with a 45 deg elbow for clearance since i'm using a stock truck exhaust manifold. A little redundant i know but if i loose one i can always confirm with the other i suppose.

The only issue i'm having right now is that i used the coolant temp sensor N3BP suggesting and at operating temperature I am barely above the min of the gauge so i'm not sure what's going on. Could be the gauge or the sensor at this point. Just haven't had time to troubleshoot it...

Yes sir; I would likely use a prefabbed cage of high quality. My first job was an iron workers helper. I can freehand a router pretty well. I would definitely be more concerned with rigidity over great looks. Gotta settle somewhere, but not on safety on a 1000+ hp car that may well end up going to one of my boys. I can clean the crap outa ugly welds though. I won't be going it alone either. That would be a bad idea. I have testicles, and can be pretty stupid, but you gotta draw the line somewhere right?  But there are quality cages for the fc if I'm not mistaken. Couldn't bolt up units still be welded up?

Just wanted to point out about the welding cage item and your comment above about cleaning welds. I think this applies to all the different governing bodies like NHRA and SCCA that it is against the regulation to clean up welds on a roll cage. I have some welding experience but even then i'm still on the fence about welding my own cage. Just something to consider.

Yeah, i totally understand your point. I've always err'd on the side of cautions and try to design my equipment based on worst case scenarios. I get that could be a little overkill at times but that's also how you build things to last. Who's to say the solenoid will never get stuck and cause constant cranking until the battery gets disconnected  :lipsrsealed:

I appreciate all the input though  :grin: . Always good to looks at these things through multiple lenses.

Thanks for the pictures and additional explanation. Looks like we are on similar paths. That was a smooth idea to use the factory power harness. Personally I've had enough of the old power wiring go bad due to age on other cars that i'm just going to replace them but i like the single post idea. I was planning to install something like this but might be a little overkill to get the job done.
