Will never be fully done modding, but yes swap is done and then redone twice again. I should have it fully back together and running driving this summer.

Day off from work, reading through the old posts. Found a bunch of pictures I had hosted on Facebook and I think Google+ were not working any more. So I dl'ed every build pic from FB and uploaded to Photobucket. Fixing missing picture links one post at a time and adding some extra pics left out to make up for lost ones.

I have still been following this build, gives me very few excuses for not doing mine.

I haven't been on in forever... Car has been sitting.
Main reason why Eli S Boettger 08/19/2015

I haven't given up on the project. Last I remember it got a fresh coat of paint, nothing got out back together. All door handle and trim is removed. Need new door and window seals. Entire engine harness needs rewire with new bulkhead connectors, need suggestions on which ones. The ones I bought won't work, too big to fit between engine and firewall. I need a new radiator, a bigger one now that I have more room with the FC subframe in. Lots and lots of rewiring...

I am now a home owner with a decent 2 car garage that I am preparing for shop work. When this frozen land of Fargo ND thaws out I will drag the old 7 over the river and get started on it again.

I would recommend to not even bother with the stock 1980 differential/housing/axles it's all far to weak to live long with V8 torque levels.

Your metal trim behind the rubber bump strips was all good? Both of mine front and rear was rusted to pieces.

I'm interested to see how you do the front and rear bumper rubber trim.

Torque arm setup would work around this also. I was surprised at how bad Gary s car was rusted out in the same place. Very happy mine is in great shape there. I'm sure someone on the club has fixed this before.

Holy crap you have some bad rust cancer. I thought all the rust I kept finding was bad. Worst I have seen on a first Gen was rusted through to inside of the rear bins, and nothing noticeable on the outside.

Your body working is going much faster than mine, I keep getting too picky. Keep up the great work!

Hidden bolts under access holes in the trunk. I saw the lids long ago and never opened them up to see what was in there. Big surprise to find the bolts hidden.

More stuffs done

took the fender off because i spotted a bit of rust, it was worse than i thought

scrubbed off the rust and hit it with some rust converter

Filled it up with some expensive sealant foam, hope it works

Then some proper rust repair, the rear quarter in front of the tire. Found a hole and cut it off like cancer.

Pretty nice

Rust Tuff epoxy coated the inner fender

Scrubbed and coated the underbody also

Work in progress.
a better look at the problem area

There is a previous repair

So many rock chips and a previous dent repair

I swear the previous owner must have tailgated everyone down gravel roads, never seen so many rock chips... and the front end has been repainted before
