Title: SUMMIT RACING - poor customer service
Post by: Gunnytron on January 12, 2020, 04:52:58 PM
Has anyone else had problems with Summit?

I ordered some parts before Christmas (to the UK) and when they turned up but there was a part missing. I immediately  followed their missing part procedure (sent photos etc.) but I have heard nothing back. A week later I sent them an email asking what was happening as I hadn't even had confirmation that they had received my missing part request.

It's now been 2 weeks and I haven't heard a thing. Now I gave them a weeks grace as the parts turned up on the 31st Dec IIRC, but to not even get an email is pretty slack. Most places reply within 24hrs.

I find myself using these chat services much more and they are usually super responsive. Emails and even the lost procedures tend to be somewhat slow/non responsive.

Calling summit has always been really good and Iíve never had a complaint with them.

Glad it looks like they are taking care of you.

I haven't dealt with Summit or Jegs much lately, but back when I was building my Cobra I got excellent customer service, to the point of being treated like royalty when I'd call.  Probably had something to do with the amount I was spending with them during my build. LOL

They've been around a long time, and I haven't heard negative things about them, but anyone can have something fall through the cracks sometimes.

Glad they're getting it sorted out for you.

I didn't get any time to respond. I tried starting another chat but it was out of hours so Dale basically did a f&*k you, I'm going home.

I also want to make sure they send it with the duty paid as that is how I bought it in the first place.

Do I wait another 2 weeks for a response (that makes it 1 month)?

Guess I will try and start another chat tomorrow.

I think chat is the best route for you.  In general I have had lots of shipping issues lately, including UPS losing an artificial christmas tree.  I think there a lot of people stealing stuff out of packages now

Well, you are correct. I had a chat today and they sorted me out straight away so all is good now.

Wish I'd done it in December now.
