November 2010: skinnies

http://www.norotors.com/index.php?topic=3322.0

1983 FB, unknown miles on the chassis

2005 L33 junkyard 5.3(aluminum) with 100k miles
gt2-3 cam, patriot gold springs and good pushrods
ls9 head gaskets and arp head studs
Otherwise stock motor, including stock rod bolts
Custom modified oil truck pan
Stock ls1 intake/tb
ls1 accessories(no p/s or a/c)
80lb injectors with stock rails
2 bar map sensor
Tuned with hptuners

Custom made turbo kit
stock truck manifold on passenger side facing foward
fbody manifold on drivers side facing backward then coming back under the kmember
X02 60mm wastegate
RFL blow off valve
TC78 .96 AR turbo
Twin procharger intercoolers

2x3 box frame so not a full tube chassis
Front of the cage is mild steel, rear(just redone) is all chromoly
Stock struts, 115lb springs
Built th400 with tci transbrake
PTC 3200 9 inch stall
B&M pro stick shifter
Lingenfelter 2 step
Narrowed 9 inch, 33 spline moser axles, moser spool, all aluminum 3rd member, 3.55 gears
Full 4 link setup with wishbone
Weld prostars with 33x22.50x15 hoosier quicktime pro(not a typo)
Mazda space savers with 165/80/15 skinnies

27 gallon custom made aluminum fuel cell
Three 255 walbro fuel pumps with -8 feed and -6 return
Ran purely on e85
All lexan windows
aluminum dash with autometer gauges
lc1 wideband
5 point harness for both driver and passenger
31x19 Aluminum radiator with Spal fans

I'm sure I'm missing some things, but that should be a good list for now. I put about 5500 miles on the car this year, it gets driven all over the place! I've got 22mpg with it on the e85 on a road trip back in August and it cruises down the highway about 2300rpm with the tall tire and not a lot of gear.  I built the car to drive, not be a trailer queen.

Future plans include making it fully 8.50 track legal including a chute, then I plan on doing a lq9 6.0 with a 88mm turbo to see if we can push the stock shortblock into the mid/low 8's! I also plan on painting the car, color is still undecided though along with finally putting on some headlight covers.(the headlights are from a 94 camaro!)

Here is a few better pictures....

1991
Ls1(MS3 cam, full exhaust, 200 shot)
S4 sport wing, modded tailights, turboII hood, cheap wheels
Roll bar, random gauges, cut shifter handle, kept clean over the years
Stance GR+ Pro Coil Overs, Rear steer eliminater bushings, some poly stuff

Not sure what makes it special, its pretty clean in my opinion.  I guess we will see what everyone thinks.

So after 10 years of faithful service from my 13b....I decided it was time to give the old slug a rest and drop a bit of muscle(LS2/T56) into the rex....So with alot of help from friends and folks on here I was able to make a few calls and get everything needed to make it happen.

The car should have come with this motor from the factory!!....

Main stuff is Samberg...hydraulics/Driveshaft  from Hinson...Pez scratch built harness(Greg knows his stuff...highly recommended)....JTR Longtubes...custom Y into the 3.5in Greddy catback...haha....I'll need tires in no time now....traction is an issue through 3rd!!....

heres a few pics of my ride....more to come!

Pez's Custom harness and PS lines....a work of art!
