I know! had it and if you have 275/40r17 drag radials they dont hook up that great!! at that level if you rripping into it..   after bout 3rd gear it comes on and it pulls like a jet tho..    depends on the use I guess..

im sticking to 700whp and less for my rx7 personally...   More to me is just a bragging number unless you are drag only...  in these cars that is...  oh n im doing widebody with that power too.

One of the more interesting threads, I love the mockup coolers (I usually just use posterboard, your metal ones are WAY more legit).

I loved my C5 Z06 with a Vortec S-trim on it, bone stock LS6 and 550+whp.  I'm in kind of the same boat as Matt with a heads/cam N/A setup waiting to see if I really want the weight/cost/issues of forced induction on a street car.

Not sure if I've ever seen 650whp from a P1... I typically see 500-525 . I will definitely finish up this project down the line but I just gotta get my car running for the season! I didn't buy the aster bracket, was planning on designing my own haha

500-550whp is typical in a p1, but give the motor forged internals, good heads, a boost camshaft, proper fueling and exhast with high boost from a p1 and 600+HP is there forsure.. if you want 700whp and such a d1 is better, or a f1 for that matter..    Plenty of people on ls1tech have shown 600whp+ using a p1sc.. I was one of them, and the guys at ls1 tech helped me out before I went forged..   but if you are shooting for those levels a d1 does make it easier..

please don't get me wrong... i'm one of the bigger procharged LS1FD fans out there... i know they have tons of potential and I think it's a better fit for LS1 powered FD's.  i'm still mad at myself for bagging the project for the year, but i had to do it. i will be going D1/8-rib next time around... i just don't think i would have been happy enough with my P1/6-rib.

A p1 and 6 rib no you prob wouldent but a p1 with an 8rib would have probably pushed past 600whp and thus prob about as much as you'd want to push the stock block

Going to a D1 with stock internals would be pretty excruciating.  There would be so much unused power just to keep from blowing the engine.  Then you get a little curious one day and you're driving over your crankshaft :)

mattsters- yes I should have said a 6 rib isnt going to do 600whp quite easily.. you def want a 8 rib on a p1 for 600whp plus.
