**SORRY FOR STARTING A NEW THREAD, THANK PHOTOBUCKET FOR DESTROYING MY OTHER ONE!**

Follow the build on Instagram as well: https://www.instagram.com/jon_superman_rx7/@Jon_superman_rx7

So after a successful lq9/ls3 all motor setup I felt like it was time to go turbo. The car was a mid 10's car and the only way to really make it faster was either a turbo, nitrous or build the motor. So I decided to ditch all the N/A stuff and slap in a simple junkyard 5.3 setup. Trying to make it a true budget turbo build. Here are the parts / prices .

L33 $500 motor (after selling parts off of it)
Stock heads
Stock Cam
ebay head studs $80
fresh set of factory gaskets $100
Turbo is a simple on3 (ebay pretty much) $300 turbo
Deka 80lb injectors: $300
Ebay intercooler + pipe kit:$200
on3 blow off valve:$50 used
boost solenoid:$50
Converter: $350 (after selling my N/A spec'd converter)
TH400 trans: $500 (came with converter and shields that I sold. cost $1000 at first)

BY THE WAY! if anybody wants a cheap engine dolly that WORKS REALLY WELL. get this!

YES it is for a SBC but if you cut 2" off engine mount pad (and 1 bolt hole per side) the stand will bolt right onto a LS motor using 6 bolts total

How ya gonna put a ATI damper on it but keep the stock cam lol!
Build is looking good. How soon before it runs?
What ECU and what are the turbo specs? Hopefully I'll see this thing around.

Knew somebody would notice that hahahah. Its an ATI balancer off my old motor andddd it only cost me $175 brand new. ATI scratch and dent. Thing had the tiniest of scratches on it, I didnt care.

Quick update on turbo placement...

Re did my manual brakes with bigger hardware and started routing lines. Welded up some angle iron to mount the intercooler. Its a vertical flow so I sacrificed a little surface area at the bottom so I put holes to help out. Might cut it more later on.

Also first time mig welding in a wile! Dont think I did half bad.

3" downpipe out the hood. We are going to make a aluminum straight pipe for the street down the road.

As a bonus, you can immediately tell if you have an oil consumption problem by the drops on the windshield.   :poke:
