We're so pissed at our composites guys.   Their inability to finish our R&D projects is maddening, particularly when we put in all the effort to get the master models perfect.  Everything we do ourselves we have pretty well sorted.  However, given the complexity of the fender mold needing multiple split lines we don't really trust ourselves to do that bit.

We finally made the call last night during a Ronin work session that we're going to throw down an ultimatum on a date for which we have to have the front fender molds made or we're pulling them.  That means we'd have to find and vette a new composite vendor.  That's something we've been putting off for too long because it's a huge PITA, a huge cost in time and effort, and we make very little profit on our composites despite their premium pricetag.

Short version.  No no ETA, but this has been an action for way too long and we finally decided that we're actually ready to cut bait...  Hoods we can get built (fiberglass faster than carbon), but at we can get carbon now.  The only twist is that we're planning to have folks clear their own as that lets us deliver these faster and hopefully solves some of our production headaches.  We'll be updating the website soon.

Vented hood: much easier.  We actually just updated the pricing on that (lowered it) but will be selling the carbon ones unpolished with a full on clear coat now coming as an upgrade option.  That should help us a great deal in being able to get the carbon ones.  Expect some lead time still.  Details on our website.

I have been checking your website monthly for the availability to show instock.  Have you reached an agreement  with your composites shop on any eta for the front fenders?

Yes we have one set of rears in stock ready to immediately. Effectively we need a new composites supplier to move forward with the front or else get carbon parts made reliably. At the same time we're so pissed and frustrated at the whole situation that no one among the three Ronin principals really wants to deal with it. The composites we do make are pretty nice but we effectively lose money on all of them given the level of effort required.

Even for the things we do have readily available when once in a while someone takes you to task over a weave not being perfect it just drives you insane. Morale of the story, it's still on hiatus. We still want to do it, but don't hold your breath. If and when we do get our composites fully sorted don't expect to see many carbon offerings.

Hi Thanks for the update, I just wanted to kick the hornets nest to see what the latest was. So are you activily manufacturing the rears or do we have to fight it out for the last set? are you producing non Carbon fibre sets?

Thanks Neil
