fd3s in mauritius island
« on: July 20, 2012, 07:30:47 AM »
hello everyone

i am from mauritius island and i own a fd3s.

unfortunately recently my engine failed, after much considering am thinking about going on the dark side and swap the engine.

it cost too much to maintain the car on a remote island, getting ripped everytime by shipping costs.

what i would like to know is what engine easily available in the the UK for the swap ??

why the UK its only because i have shipping facilities from there.

awaiting response and opinions impatiently

I'd be looking for a Vauxhall Monaro LS1/2 if I were you.

If you want an easy swap go for an LS engine.
You can sometimes find them on http://www.ebay.co.uk/ or in the classified section on http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/index.asp?g=3

Guys!

costwise which is cheaper ?

1jz complete can be found as from 1000 pounds where as ls engines are quiet more expensive.

does anyone have some approximate figures for a 1jz VS ls swap please ?

we dont have any LS engined cars in Mauritius, am cautious that it wont be the same hassle to find parts overhere same as the 13B.
