My 93 LS6 Build Thread
« on: April 29, 2012, 02:16:34 AM »
Alright. While this build thread isn't nearly as crazy as the other ones on this forum... I figured it would be interesting to show everyone the progress on my build thread while at the same time, documenting everything.

Please be patient though as I get lazy sometimes with posting =P

Here we go...

So I recently picked up another forum member's (dark_one) Rx-7. For those who don't know about his Rx-7. It's basically a completed 93 Rx-7 with a Ls6 and a BIG ASS TURBO.

Here's his build thread:

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1135495-t6-turbo-ls6-fd3s-rx-7-cobra-irs-custom-mounting.html

Car was picked up from OHIO on Tuesday 4/24 and was delivered to California, today, 4/28.

Given dark's build, the car came rolling with almost 700 hp.... which was plenty for me considering the fastest thing I've ever driven in my life was my cousin's stock EVO   :D

With that said, I really wanted to take Dark's build and make it more of my own, which meant making it more drivable on the street.

Here's a pic of how she looked like when she came.

I'll update this thread tomorrow with some more pictures and info as it's pretty late right now....

Some more pics...

Exterior wise... the car is in ok shape. But the interior was a different story...

I think almost 90% of panel's tabs were broken or bent in some weird way. Luckily for me... I was going to do something to the interior anyways... =P

haha... I got banned from that forum last week.... :/

They said I was spamming to get enough posts to go on the classifieds and I think they thought I was trying to stir up trouble by asking about LSx conversions.

I issued an apology PM to the administration over there but last time I checked... I was still banned =P

I remember when he first posted that car, pretty nice setup.  Sorry to see the interior isn't great, but as I recall he mentioned that in the sale thread.

Happy for you!  It's always fun having a car that you can drive while making it your own, rather that it sitting in a garage for years first. :)
