Installed..... the shifter I want to run will work.  It will give you taller people the option still run a Steeda laid back shifter for a few more inches of rearward positioning if you need it.

and...... from the top.  I did have to bend the sheetmetal up a small amount to clear the arm when shifting into 1-3-5 etc.

After speaking with my 3 engineer buddies (Mech engineers that design cooling systems for GE nuclear power plants) they said both the Sikky unit and the red one I'm running will work fine.  The red unit they said as long as the base or arm doesn't flex/deflect will shift essentially the same as the Sikky unit.  Being such a short arm on this application they said has no downsides vs. a cantilever system.  Only on longer distances did they say a cantilever system would be preferred.

This unit is $350 vs. the Sikky which is $500.

Hey Mark,

I'd be interested to see the throw from 1st to 2nd or 3 to 4 if you have them..  that's the only thing i was concerned about with a shifter offset that much.  I can take some pics of mine too and replicate your angle so we can compare.  it would be interesting to see.

I pulled out my new (5 years old) Textralia ExoSkel clutch for some machine work on it and a balance.  POS clutch was the 1st run they made and had some manufacturing issues which need to be addressed.  Posts need to be milled, shimmed, and floater plate needs some machining.  In the future all that I'm buying is McLeod products.

I'll get it back hopefully in a week and continue then.  On the bright side my 31 spline 3.5" alum HD driveshaft was finished last week and fits like a glove.

So while browsing the net today I came across what looks like a Tremec T56 Magnum for Chevy F-bodies, is this an actual production piece from Tremec?  If so, will this resolve the main issue of the shifter location on the FD with the Tremec T56 Magnum for Ford trans that's being used now?

The picture on the bottom retains the stock FBody torque arm mount... but you still need to move the shifter further back for our applications.
It is not an out of the box offering from Tremec.

They cost a lot more than $2895 with that modification that is for sure.  Transmission rebuilders are modifying them to accept the Fbody tailhousing and shifter.  You still need a Steeda Tri-Ax handle or similar to move it back yet another 2-3 inches.

What gear ratios do you offer?

Can you get something close ratio like this:
4.2.29-1st, 1.60-2nd, 1.21-3rd, 1-1 4th, 0.84-5th, 0.67-6th (Close Ratio)

Thinking of keeping the stock diff and would like to gear the trans taller in the lower gears to keep it a bit more civil.

You can have any gear ratios you want in it.  Changing 5 gears and the labor will add an easy $1500 or more to the price.

out of the box choices for LS motors are:
2.97 TUET11012 (I have yet to sell one of these.... the gear ratios IMO are not performance oriented)
2.66 TUET11009 (this one is your best option..... I run it with 575rwhp approx.... good for 350rwhp also.  Nice .80 5th gear ratio)

We are running one of these stock T56 Magnums in Mike's (LS1-FD) 88mm turbo LS9 FD making well over 1100rwhp without issues.
Did 191mph at the Shift Sector 1/2 mile event with boost falling off.  Easily capable of 200mph+.

They are $3050 delivered to a commercial address.

Taking the punishment day in/out in big HP cars.

They've had f-body rear sections available for the TR6060 and T56 Magnum for over a year.  I'm sure Mark can elaborate (and give you pricing), but we've always had that option through our trans shop.

What AZDrake is referring to is an off the shelf offering from Tremec.

It "should" be available later this year to order directly from me via Tremec.
It still requires a different yoke as the output shaft is 31 spline.  As far as I know you need a 3.5" tube on the shaft to accept that yoke and I would recommend a 1350 Spicer Ujoint at the same time.

What Jordan Innovations is saying is that you can have an F-body tailhousing installed now.... by a trans shop.... but it adds considerably to the price.... big time due to machining the output shaft and complete tear down/reassembly of the unit with new tailshaft housing and boring it out also to accept the 31 spline shaft.
