Very cool video. I haven't autocrossed in years. I might have to do a run this summer yet.

So it would seem that the Uras hood vent doesnt flow nearly enough air to work with a tilted radiator.  I couldn't keep water below 215* during an event with the hood closed.  Makes sense once you see how small the actual cutouts are.  I really like the look of the vent, its a shame the open area is so small.

So I did what any good FC owner would do- hit up the home depot!

Since my radiator faces up, I figured I would want my hood vent area to at least be somewhat near the radiator area.  Airflow out the bottom of the engine bay = bad for aero.

I'll admit, I expected the new vent to look like shit, but I'm more interested in performance than aesthetics.  And ruining another $80 hood isnt the end of the world :-P   This was also a good excuse to center my intake.
I'm really happy with how well it turned out, although its not nearly as cool as the old vent.  o well.

I'm definitely not hatin it. (suffice to say I'm also an FC owner.  :D)
With the way you have your car setup it's aesthetically pleasing and looks functional.

there in a different location, but it makes me think of Prince Loric's setup where he had Z34 vents farther back and toward the outer edges

That is one hell of a strut tower brace. Looks like you got a lot of weight off from those headlights and everything.

One question: why not get rid of the sheet metal where the old headlight motors were?

I got to ask why two pressure caps and the pressurized overflow tank?  Why not just run the one plastic bottle right to the rad and cap there?

If you say just to fill it then may I introduce you to this nice tool.

I was kind of impressed, airflow out of the bottom of the engine bay is one of the best ways to make your splitter non-functional lol, good on ya!

The vents look good, but the next step is to seal the rest of the engine bay and duct the radiator out of the vents.  I guarantee that air isn't escaping around the windshield cowl, it's entering there and pressurizing your tunnel and possibly wheelhouses.  That's the current setup on my car, except without the over-the-radiator intake (so yours is better!)

sounds like its time for the NASCAR school of ducting lol.  We got to the point we shaped everything from the rad ducting to look like a water slide with humps, to making the firewall the way we wanted the air to flow.  This was before the rad setups got so good that we realized 85+% of the air we use to have go through the car was not needed.  Basic rule is air through the car is slower cause you can not control it the way you would like.  Air over the car is faster cause you can.  Shock doors in the rear will keep the pressure zone down on the rear of the car also.

Ducting is pretty heavily debated in my class. The rules are poorly written, but the general consensus is no ducting after the rad, although hoods are free.  That means any ducting must be secured to the hood...  Kinda tricky with an intake in the way.

Sounds stupid, I know, but they were originally written to limit aero benefits from body mods. Ppl just ride the loopholes.
