You will need to cut a small section off the end but you will see as it's obvious when you try to fit it.

Oh, and you only need to do this if the joint bolt "just" touches the exhaust manifold. As mentioned it doesn't move the column by very much.

i was thinking about a 1jz swap, what are your opinions?

BTW anyone has a cad file for the subframe like tech2 one for example ?

If you want an easy swap go for an LS engine.
You can sometimes find them on http://www.ebay.co.uk/ or in the classified section on http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/index.asp?g=3

I have got one, do you need just the fitting or the short hard line attached to it too?
Let me know your address and I'll pop it in the post. Are you in a hurry for it or will the next time I go into town for the post office be ok?

Phil
Might have one, I'll look in my box of bits tomorrow.

Cool, thanks.  :D

Bumping an old thread with good info.  Did we ever figure out the flow of the stock mazda units?  I have an 04 GTO pump sitting on the shelf and I'm debating that vs. a turn one.  That said, the GTO looks like the best match of all the GM pumps.

I used a 2004 GTO pump and it felt exactly like the FD did before the swap. I also used one of the FD's (auto) oil coolers just in case.

I guess as I never used any other one I didn't try and compare just used the info I had. But what I did have was fine.

well the harness got converted to a 2001 f body harness.  complicate this with a auto FD and it was just a pain in the ass to me more so then it needed to be.  GTO harness wires are miss labeled from GM in colors and what they do.  This is from my guess its a AU built car and nothing GM about it really.  They use an orange wire for what should be a pink for switch power in pin 19 on C1.  the front 02 sensors need to be grounded for the f body harness cause there is no pins for them.  There was a few more things that are just not needed, like the traction control TB mess, then the way the AC request for the GTO is done through the BCM.  Everything about the GTO is just more of a pain then a F body.
Well I left my harness much the way it came out of the factory, just using what I needed and I found it very easy. All the wires I needed  were on just 2 plugs, C101 and C206, they even came out just where I needed them on the chassis (RHD). On my pin out diagram it shows C1 pin 19 as an orange wire and it is an orange wire so not miss labelled for me. RE the traction control TB plug, just don’t use it, same goes for the BCM plug. The only thing I do agree with is the AC request but as I didn't use AC it didn’t cause me any problems.
For me, if you have a LS1 GTO motor and a LS1 GTO harness things could not be easier.
